Fires of Creation, Part II

With some small, almost comedic difficulty (the suit was Medium-sized, after all) the party gets Emma safely out of the cave and into fresh air for the first time in a week. Gerrol's and Parda's bodies are also safely retrieved. No hostiles are waiting on the other end (sorry about that Berry, but that was the module), just townsfolk eager to hear the party's stories.

Parda is taken away for burial, and everyone is grateful for the party's good deed. 200 XP.

Enlali's vision completely returns at this point, just in time to witness...

A mild disturbance is heard as a beautiful blonde woman Harskgun recognizes as Emelia Otterbie, Gerrol's fiancee, fights her way to the front of the crowd. Upon seeing Gerrol's body, she lets out a cry of despair, sinks to her knees, and bursts into tears. After a moment, she composes herself, stands up, and addresses the party. "*sob* Th-thank you for bringing him back. At least he isn't ... *sniff*... isn't rotting in a cave somewhere. I... I don't have much to offer, but I'll make sure Daddy makes a super special weapon for each of you. Just tell me what you want and once he has time to make it, it's yours. *sniff*" (read: free masterwork weapon for each of you. Also, 200 XP)

She looks at Gerrol's body again. " Hey.... what's that stuff growing on him? Is that what... what *sob* killed him?"

[Sajuuk]

Somberly, Harskgun nods, "Yes, and the mold needs to be destroyed before it grows further. Liquor or acid might kill the mold, but our best bet might be to cremate him to ensure that the mold is gone for good."

Emelia is extremely opposed to cremation, preferring to give her beloved a proper burial. She insists on alcohol or acid. Maybe even magic?

Alcohol also works, and Harksgun has remembered there was a bunch of moonshine that just got delivered to the Foundry 2 days ago, and that Val had managed to keep him from drinking it all like water.

Harskgun goes to fetch the moonshine so he can use it to kill the mold.

Under the influence of the finest in River Kingdoms backwoods distillate, the russet mold withers and dies, leaving Gerrol's body safe, clean, and smelling of high-octane happy juice. Looking back, Emelia wryly observes that he'd have wanted his body perfumed no other way. 200 XP.

After the funeral, Manizei tries to talk to Emelia alone.
She is polite and desperately trying not to cause any offence, especially with what's just happened, but Manizei, as she softly explains, has no need of a new weapon, however she is hardly going to tell someone not to create.
Instead, she suggests that instead of making a weapon for her, Emelia should make a dagger for Val. With her father missing, the girl is alone, and while Manizei will be too busy searching for her father to look after her, she could at least be given something to protect herself, just in case there was ever any need for such a thing.

(How old is Val, again? Not too young, right?)

Emelia says she'll have a hard time convincing her dad to make a weapon for a kid... but once you have your dagger you can do with it whatever you like. Wink wink.

Niles requests a shortsword, and spends the rest of the evening analyzing the robot that attacked them earlier.

Niles is able to determine little about the repair robot he didn't already know, but he does manage to salvage a functional flashlight (technology guide pg 45) from the drone's chassis. Having just been connected to the robot's power core, it has full charges.

Manizei's request goes in, but a moment later Emelia comes back and exceitedly informs her that, in addition to the dagger she asked for, her dad found ten adamantine bullets lying around. Firearms users are so rare, they wouldn't sell, and at this point he's just giving them away, so here you go.
