Terasaka agrees, adding that "we live to serve".

He also will sleep 18 out of every 24 hours until its time to actually move out.

After yet another meeting with the various leaders, three groups have volunteered and were judged to be suited for returning to the Death Lands for further recruiting: the first led by Wolf Fang officer Kyoudou Senna, the second led by Kongomaru's leader Sanzou, and the third built around Katsurou's group. The three groups will all traverse southwards, but split towards east, central, and western regions to search and gather additional people. Katsurou and his group of five, with two extra volunteers --- Yuuta and Shigeru --- joining it for the mission, will be proceeding to the southwest. The journey is to begin tomorrow morning after everyone's had a chance to rest, and the goal is to have everyone return within 10 days for the next push out...

The armory/supplies people gave each of you 3 days of rations, and says that you'll have to rely on foraging for most of the food. The two 'in charge' claimed that each of the other parties were given the same thing (Terasaka and anyone with +8 sense motive also knows they're lying). Anyone with a bow or crossbow can also get as many standard arrows/bolts as they'd like to carry.

[Prepare your survival gear and we'll set out...]

[I need the following from you guys for the first two days (at least 2 rolls): Fortitude checks against disease, Perception checks, Survival check to track (whoever that's tracking), survival check to forage (should you choose to, it does slow you down)]
[I also need you guys' plans on making camp at nightfall]

Note: Our group will be traveling no more than 4 days from the gate. This is due to the fact that we were given limited rations, and will have to forage earlier than other groups. Naturally, Katsurou will mentioning this privately.

Fortitude Checks:
Roll 1: 1d20+10= 26
Roll 2: 1d20+10= 23

Perception:
1d20+8= 17
1d20+8= 9

Aid Other for Survival (Tracking):
Roll 1: 1d20+2= 11 (+4 bonus)
Roll 2: 1d20+2= 21 (+6 bonus)

Aid other for Survival (Foraging):
Roll 1: 1d20+2= 6 (Nope)
Roll 2: 1d20+2= 4 (Nope)

Plan for Camp Watch:
Hour 1: Katsurou, Yumi
Hour 2: Katsurou
Hour 3: Teresaka
Hour 4: Teresaka
Hour 5: Daisuke, Daichi
Hour 6: Daisuke, Daichi
Hour 7: Katsurou
Hour 8: Katsurou, Yumi

1d20+2=7

Survival (Tracking - Aid Another):
1d20+9 = 13 (+2)
1d20+9 = 15 (+3)

Survival (Foraging - Aid Another):
1d20+9 = 21 (+4)
1d20+9 = 19 (+3)

[So I am informed all the PCs are contributing money into getting trail bars rather than foraging... does speed the pace up, not to mention help some against the diseases out there in the Death Lands.]

The group of trekked out from the Keep on the morning of Oct. 4th, heading towards the southwest. The Keep wasn't clean by any means, but half a day spent there already makes everyone in the party realize once again what a shithole the Death Lands is. The ground is always flat, barren, and muddy. The air is foggy in the mornings and simply muggy for the rest of the day, with the occasional stench of garbage or corpses. There isn't a bit of foliage or cover anywhere to be seen, and the sun is as unbearable as ever. Everybody had kept an eye out for threats and signs of life, but for an entire day the group encountered nothing... except for the remains of what seems to be another small Death Lander group who had been overran by the oni.

[Looting the site attains: 492gps, 27 ration packs, 7 regular spears, 1 mwk katana, 4 mwk daggers, 2 CLW potions, and a whole lot of random junk]

Surprisingly enough, the first night was spent in peace as well. Entire days spent without encountering the oni were relatively uncommon in the Death Lands.

By midday on Oct. 5th, however, Yuuta picks up the first signs of a trail. With the help of everyone else, they made quick progress tracing the trail, but it had already been over a day old. Five hours later, everyone was starting to get a bit tired from the day's journey... Yuuta guesses that the tracks now were made just earlier today, but it'll probably still be a few hours out. [Edit: probably 2hrs of light left]

Continue on? [1: No, make camp][2: enter hours to continue tracking for (Constitution check each hour required)]

"There's two hours of light left, so let's track for one hour and then spend the last hour of light making camp. I really don't want to try and make camp in the dark out here if we can help it. Shigeru, you can take care of anyone who's getting too tired."

(This means that everyone is going to have to make a CON check, DC 10, or take 1d6 subdual + fatigue - Marty can fix up the latter problem.)

CON check: 10+3=13

"You are the tracker, Yuuta. We shall forge ahead until you think it unwise to do so." Katsurou responded in a decisive tone.

(CON Check: 1d20+4= 11)
