Major Bayreuth: "3rd armor, continue your approach but fall back behind 4th armor. 1st Armor take the vanguard."

With all of the MBTs concentrating their PSL fire, the second cruiser soon fell from the skies after its engines were destroyed, and within another minute the third cruiser was also destroyed as plasma fire combined with the HVMs plowed through its armor and shattered its core, causing a large explosion that severed the sky cruiser into multiple pieces.

1st Armored Captain: "Should we continue against the 2nd cruiser group ?"

Major Soissons: "The MBTs are still under fire, but their charge left the rest of the attack force behind. We need to move up there and quickly if we expect good HVM accuracies through that ECM."

Ivan: "MBTs continue the attack. All other units, move up into firing range as fast as possible and open fire on the second cruiser group."

[ Since we appear to be getting linear at this, fast forwarding... ]

The MBTs accelerate back to full-throttle speed in their dash towards the second cruiser trio while the 1st armor is receiving continued fire from the enemy cruisers. Meanwhile other elements of the brigade also accelerated to top speed in order to close the range towards the second enemy force. The HVM launchers of the brigade spat out slugs against the enemy, and despite the reduced long range targetting accuracy a good number of them were still hitting against the massive targets.

Soon the HVMs were hitting in sufficient numbers to breach the shields, crippling and destroying forward components of the sky cruisers. But at the same time, forward MBTs of the 1st Armor were being destroyed by volleyed fire from the Moharan cruisers.

Major Bayreuth ordered to focus HVM fire the enemy turrets, switching fire to another cruiser as soon as the previously targetted one's frontal turrets were mostly crippled or destroyed.

By the time the MBTs reached PSL attack range of the target, none of the cruisers had received crippling damage to their hull, drives, or shield, but all three had lost a good number of turrets. The 1st Armor also lost another 14 MBTs in the attack run. Yet the battle's finale came as soon as the MBTs began focusing plasma fire against the enemy cruisers. Within another two minutes, also three Sky Cruisers had been either destroyed or sank.

Major Soissons: "Enemy cruisers destroyed. Our armored complement is currently positioned 37 miles west-by-southwest of the main force, with the main force 34 miles west-by-southwest of our command and escorts."

Major Bayreuth: "The enemy land force Berezina detected earlier is only about 110 miles to their southwest now. Although, if we leave them be, they won't get to Tsutsui fast enough to have any affect on the battle anyways. Though, I think their objective is merely to ward against us moving westwards."

Ivan: "All forward units meet up with the command group. We will then proceed Northeast back to Tsutsui at normal speed."

It took less than ten minutes for the Brigade to come back together and reorient itself. The time was nearly midnight.

[ Also, assume your subordinates took the time to send Scouts out to pick up any pilots that ejected, seeing as you certainly didn't go into the details... ]

Major Bayreuth: "...Should we head back through southern Tsutsui and into Kochikaze? Or towards northern Tsutsui and their assembled militaries this time? The latest updates from Berezina's sensors detects that the Tsutsui fleet is still at the same place, although there's been heavy activity in that area all night. The northern Moharan task force will also arrive earlier than expected with their higher cruise velocity, estimated around 0300. If we head straight towards their assembly point in the Tsutsui fortifications, the Moharans will still beat us by an hour or two, unless we press our vehicles to full speed for several hours."

Major Soissons: "I'm against that idea. We've already been pushing them on our way here. The last thing we need is for the machines to need engineering attention as we enter battle against a fortified foe."

Ivan: "Rushing to assault their force would probably be unwise. Even if we did beat the Moharans there, their fortifications could prove to be formidable enough to turn the tide in their favor.

"I would prefer to move at normal speed back towards Kochikaze, letting the Moharans and Tsutsui meet up and emerge from their fortified positions. Once they enter Kochikaze, we accelerate to full speed to engage them while the 77th from hits them from the other side."

At nearly 0300...

Major Bayreuth: "The Berezina confirms that the Northern Moharan reinforcements have successfully linked up with the awaiting Tsutsui forces. The combined Sky Cruiser fleet is now heading towards southeastern Tsutsui without rest. They're currently on a path that will allow them to meet us on an intercept course if we maintain our current vector. The enemy force consists of 26 'Shikinami' class Sky Cruisers - 16 Tsutsui and 10 Moharan; and 2 'Yukikaze' class Assault Transports, both Tsutsui ones. The remaining ships, including 3 Tsutsui Sky Cruisers, 4 Tsutsui Assault Transports, and all 3 Moharan Assault Transports, are remaining in the Tsutsui main base for the time being. There's a good chance they'll begin advancing at any moment to start up a second front against us."

Ivan: "Approximately how long are we looking at before we come within firing range of them, assuming nothing changes? And how close will they get to Base CK-1?"

Major Bayreuth: "They're on a east-by-southeast vector while we're currently on a east-by-northeast vector. At current vector, tracking will be able to achieve adequate firing resolutions within 45 minutes, at a distance of roughly 450 miles away from base CK-1."

Major Soissons: "Fully deployed and organized, sir."

Major Bayreuth: "How much do you want to delay us from entering firing range by? Also, it is likely that the enemy may modify their movement vector further south should we slow down, especially if they detect the forces coming out of base CK-1."

Ivan: "Maintain speed and adjust our vector to east by southeast, then to due east once we get within 5 miles of the border with the Tsuchimikado. I want to delay revealing the 42nd until the Moharans are a bit farther away from their base."

After more than half an hour:

Major Bayreuth: "Target point reached, shifting movement vector to eastbound. The enemy has made only minor changes to their course, but our movement south certainly delayed the intercept - eta 34 minutes. Also, on our eastbound vector the enemy will no longer be able to make a zero-zero intercept; merely passing each others' firing envelopes."

Major Bayreuth: "Latest update. The Tsutsui-Mohara transport force has began moving due east towards base CK-1. Total force including 3 Sky Cruisers and 7 Assault Transports. Two Tsutsui ground contingents near the area, ranging between fifty to hundred landbound vehicles each, are also heading in that direction. There's also a high likelihood they will join up with the three Asakura Sky Cruisers that's moving towards the NE-Tsutsui / SE-Asakura border."

Comm. Officer: "Incoming transmission... from the 3rd Recon."

Major Soissons then sync'd back to his implants for a few seconds...

Major Soissons: "Major Gevorki seems to have finished dealing with his issues. He's still currently in southern Tsutsui and are on course to join us. Eta 20 minutes."

Major Bayreuth: "They're probably pushing their cruisers a bit on the drives, cause at their current speed they'll be at base CK-1 within 3 hours of time."
