Orc Lair Raid

Whether it was because of the confusion of battle, the lack of care, or because it was outside their logic, what Teodor said seems to have had hardly any affect upon the enemy. A few may have looked up to see who was yelling, and most of them hardly reacted, and none made to follow.

In the meantime, a squad of the remaining orc mages and dragons charged straight into the center of the lair (below the platform) where they unleashed a series of spells into what appears to be a huge boulder. The dragon that led the squad then yelled out "WITHDRAW!" and promptly teleported out along with his squad. Two other surviving squads also made to follow immediately.... and the rest? will probably do so once they get the chance. The crusaders which were pouring into the facility had already shattered the defense under the air entrance and killed over 60% of the mages and dragons.

It also appears as if they were abandoning their civilian population, which were still pouring into the air entrance cavern and rushing towards the teleportation circle at top speed... although not without some significant doubts as at least a third of every refugee group broke apart and ran back to where they came from. The crusaders paid no attention to them - they posed no direct threat after all, and the paladins in them still consider those orcs the innocent ones.

At this time... Derovarr receives a comm. message, from Aelisar Arinydeth of Airindale.
"Daethelar sees Imperium attack on Misalin forces imminent; location unknown, but expect air battle; we are preparing a response force in case it proves necessary."

Assuming my Cloak still works (since the chains deal bludgeoning damage, and I think we ruled a long time ago that piercing and slashing were required to have special effects penetrate the armor. Then again, this doesn't explain why the order is Cloak, DR, Amulet. So for the sake of reason, I'm going to go with DR, Cloak, Amulet. We really need to figure this out.):

Also, what happened to the volley of Glyphic Grenades that I ordered? Assuming that the crusaders go at the end of the round?

Most of the rear Crusader's grenade volley crashed into the Prismatic Sphere from the orc leader just as it came up (it's the primary reason he sphere'd up, although I forgot to note the grenade volley...), while the orc captain besides him projected a defensive force ward which cause some other grenades to veer away from him without impact. The grenades of the volley which weren't shattered by the Sphere crashed into the ground below... several of them fell into the Ogres' AMF fields and were kept from triggering altogether. Four landed within the mage squad, engulfing one in a solid fog and severely burning two orcs and killing one with three more blasts of silver flames.

Derovarr gets pushed back another 40ft by the bull rush...

( Drew: there is no way you can have 960SP, remember Spell-Shield is affected before ANYTHING ELSE, including all your buffs and all your armor's resistances. Because it's a perimeter ward projected away from you. It's on the item description )
( Well, it would be DR, cloak, amulet if you were wearing the cloak inside the golem armor - which would be the only reason said cloak is working when you get hit by an AMF chain. Cause if its outside... then it wouldn't be. And yes if a weapon carries a special effect [mostly imbued spell] to penetrate the armor it needs a piercing/slashing hit )

After recovering from the the most recent blow from the ogre, Derovarr, after an instant of pause begins to fly up, and over towards the Prismatic Sphere. "I'm going in." Are the only words he relays. (Swift action to change bombardment aura to mobile aura (+25ft bonus speed). Then a double move action around the ogres and into the sphere.

"YOUR TIME IS DONE!!!" he roared, as his eyes began to glow pure holy white. Then he unleashed a devastating series of attacks...

Ulrich flies up to Jens, and casts Heal on him. After that he activates BoB for a standard action, and readies to absorb a spell into his rod. Osmund readies to counter-counterspell for Jens.

Samael casts a Vitriolic Eldritch Blast at one of the ogres, using Smite Evil.

1st blast: nat 20, 43 touch to confirm (53 acid damage, 106 if it confirms, Fort DC 34 or be stunned 1 round)

He then casts a Vitriolic Deadly Sunstroke at the two ogres, plus any of the command squad that is within range. 82 acid damage, Fort DC 34 for 1/2 damage

Arjuna casts Elemental Body (Fire) on Samael.

Jens moves 50 feet to (25, 75, -50) to get a clear line of sight to the orc command squad.

He then casts a Valignat-empowered Smiting Orb of Fire at the ogre that Samael hit with his Eldritch Blast. (42 touch attack, 138 fire damage)

Jens then casts a Rod-Maximized Firestorm, hitting all the orc mages and dragons, plus the command squad. (155 Sacred damage, Ref DC 42 for 1/2)

Caelotheir readies an action to cast Firestorm to counter any counter-firestorm that is cast.

The orc chieftain, whom was busy attending to his wounds, widens his eyes in shock as Derovarr storms through the defensive sphere. Yet despite his age, his mind has not slowed any, and he quickly brought up his staff while releasing a deflection guard, doing his best to defend himself. But his best was not enough... The first two blows smashed cleanly through, divine energies pouring into his body as both hits cleaved horizontally through him, rending his body to three pieces. He was fated to die within seconds, but even that would not be allowed, for while Derovarr's third hit bounces off his deflective guard, the fourth attack comes down hard in a full vertical slash, going straight through the center of his brain, neck, and spine, leaving the body diced in six pieces...

The Prismatic Sphere promptly vanished, only Derovarr... and what was obviously something alive caught in the middle of a blood-n-flesh explosion, emerged out of it, while the remains of the orc leader falls to the ground below.

The orc captain, only a dozen or so foot away, was caught in a moment of shock as he watched his commander fall... which changed to bottomless rage as seconds flowed by...

Samael's lance of acid strike straight into one of the ogre guard's leg joint, shattering it completely and dismembering the left leg, causing the ogre to topple over as excruciating pain joined the list of emotions already twisting his hideous face. A mere moment later, another torrent of acid beams from Samael and a silver orb from Jens crashes down into the two ogres, and burning a particularly sizable hole in the chest of the one already maimed. Yet despite what happened, it began to crawl towards Samael on one leg while swinging its chain, intent on lashing out against his hated foe, while making loud grunts...

A storm of fire pours down after it, and almost all of the defenders of the air entry cavern, whom already lost their composure and organization, simply disintegrated under the tidal wave of silver fire. As the flames cleared, only the orc captain and the two ogre guards (one seveerly maimed) remains... even the civilians and their escorting militia fled back the way they came from in unspeakable terror.

The ogre whom was only lightly damaged seems to react to the fury of his comrade for a moment, drops his chain, picks up his partner, and tosses its entire body towards Samael with the might of giants ten times its size. The maimed ogre then lashes out with its chain towards Samael even while in midair...

The other ogre then picks its chain back up...

The orc captain blasts Derovarr once with a eldritch spear of acid, which was absorbed by the spell shield bubble around Derovarr (32 acid dmg). The orc then forms a lance of light in its hand and tosses that at Derovarr, which was once again absorbed by the spell shield bubble (72 energy dmg). Excessively frustrated but realizing he could not hurt his foe, the orc captain lets loose one last string of draconic profanities before teleporting out.

Arjuna quickly raises a Greater Deflection Guard as the ogre flies at Samael, avoiding the chain attack and the flying ogre.

Teodor flies up 90', drawing his carbine as he goes. He then fires a shot of plasma at the weakened ogre.

Damage: 23 searing fire, 23 pure energy

Klaus meditates briefly, regaining his psionic focus. He then flies 90' up and readies to shoot an arrow at the weakened ogre if it attacks (or the healthy one if Teodor's shot killed the weakened one).

As the the waves of glory, righteousness, and, er, blood ceased to wash over him, Derovarr's mind quickly returned to the message he had received seconds earlier. He immediately relayed the message to party and to Shift, speaking lightning fast:

Telecomm: Attention Command Squad and Commander Shift! Message received from Airindalians about impending Imperium strike on our forces, and to expect an air battle! No location Given! Commander Shift! Relay this information to Commanders Cary and Kovis, and the scout commanders! Then, contact Aelisar Arinydeth, forward our circumstances, and tell her to send in a response squad to Blackbog IMMEDIATELY! Also order [call names of three of the warmage squads] to grab the 5 remaining companies of Crusaders and return to Blackbog! ON THE DOUBLE!

Derovarr flies down to within 10ft of Samael, shooting a threatening glare at the ogres. (move action, and swift to activate Silver Knight's Glare (-21 to attacks vs. Samael, CE to full).

Samael activates Robilar's Gambit, forming a blade of eldritch energy in his hands while Arjuna casts True Strike on him.

Taking careful aim, he launches a single devastating strike at the ogre's head, attempting to sever it from the beast's shoulders entirely.

As Samael evades the flying ogre, which was too busy flinging its chain towards him than to watch its own already impaired balance, the ogre lands on the ground upon one arm with a sickening crunch, as his entire left arm was broken and crushed by the force of the throw. A plasma bolt from Teodor then rushes down seconds later, burning a hole onto its back. Yet although it was already covered with blood and gaping holes blown into its flesh, it continued to crawl towards Samael while clutching its chain with the only remaining hand... then Samael's glaive comes straight down from above and strikes through its neck, followed by a slash to the side which cuts it cleanly off the shoulders and sends the ogre head flying.
