Leah votes for gaining reputation as well... although they shouldn't align themselves too closely with Breland.

@Koko: "You make it sound like courtesans aren't super spies..."

Leah claims a Cloak of Resistance. Not like there's a lack of them.
Anything with stat-boni is good (Yes, anything. Carrying capacity. AC/ref saves. HP/fort saves. Skills. Perception/Sense Motive/will saves. Social/casting.), but Ahz can probably use the headband better for now.
The chain shirt would be very nice to have, too, but it's a bigger upgrade for Koko so she can have it. Spoil the "little sister" and everything.
Which leaves... an invisibility potion and some other consumables? Some smokesticks, the flash powder, the tanglefoot bag.
The Gloves of Faeryfire could be nice (damn invisibles), but if others want to enable Leah instead, she won't mind.
The rest seems rather useless for Leah.

Goodberry stands awkwardly during the hug, but when released, he picks up Koko and puts her on his shoulders. "Now you can be lookout." He says with what apears to be a smile forming.

( Seems like there's enough of a consensus on reputation boost, which will kick into effect after some time as Rusila spreads the word. You folks decide on how you're gonna distribute the loot =P )

EXP for Mission 3:
3,200 + 4x(1,200) = 8,000 /6 => 1,335 each for encounter
500 for successful mission completion
1,000 for preventing any from escaping
500 for recovering information
= 3,335XP

Everyone gains +10 attitude with Rusila

You all spend the rest of February 12th resting. Waking up early, fighting, and hauling stuff is pretty tiring.

Everyone gets three days of downtime, from Feb 13th to Feb 15th (Sunday). Next mission will start on the 16th. Please select one from the updated mission board. Ask me if you'd like a more detailed / in person RP session about something.

( on the last day of downtime... )

The morning of February 15th (Sunday) began like most 'winter' days here on the edge of the tropical rainforest, with the city enshrouded by mist and a cool humidity. As the members of the Xen'drik Outreach Society arrived at the company building's main lobby to discuss missions for the upcoming week, many of you came across an unfamiliar visitor.

She was a young half-elf -- beautiful yet stern, her posture tense as though honed by years of experience. It was evident to even the grizzled war veterans of the party that despite her youth (though 'youth' for elves means something different to most other races), she was already a seasoned combat specialist. With an intense, red gaze and long white hair, she wore a black adventuring outfit that could pass for paramilitary uniform in a temperate nation. She also bore a dragonmark just behind the shoulders, which Ahz recognized as a Mark of the Storm.

But perhaps even more interesting was the entity that stood just inside the company's door. It looked like a hybrid between a vehicle and a golem -- a thick, armored body with a saddle-like seat in the front, no discernible face, and six sleek limbs with bladed fingers, two of which grasped the ground.

Goodberry and Gorin were quick to realize that whatever that thing was, it was clearly designed with one purpose in mind: for war. Only Ahz, better learned in the ways of the universe, recognized the being for what it truly was -- an Inevitable, a living machine tasked with guarding the order and law of Eberron.

Was she here for a job? Or did she come here to pick a fight? Even now, she was sizing up the combat potential of the entire group in attendance.

The atmosphere chilled as visitor merely stared back, wordless. Then, with the barest nod to the party's presence, she called out to an adjacent room:

"Your employees are here, Lysette."

"They're not my employees!" you heard the muffled cry from the bathroom.

.....

It took a few minute before the petite company backer emerged from the restroom and introduced the newcomer:

"This is Reverie, my companion. You might have noticed, but she doesn't talk much to strangers," Lysette giggled. "We just returned from the continent earlier this morning; took a day off in Sharn but still not quite back up to norm."

Sure enough, the young changeling still looked rather bushed, unlike her companion who looked as fresh as any rested warrior. Turning to the half-elf, Lysette then introduced the individual members of the company.

"Reverie is an Initiate of the Gatekeepers," Lysette continued. "She didn't partake in the War, but she did learn her trade fighting alongside the Valenar elves and has served as a daelkyr hunter ever since. If any of you have questions about combat techniques and tactics, she has more combat experience under her belt than I will ever get."

Reverie, in the meantime, merely bowed her head down in a light nod.

"In addition..." the smaller girl squeaked as she reached deep into an extradimensional pocket and begin pulling things out. "Souvenirs!"

They included several herbal plants from the Eldeen Reaches for Goodberry's greenhouse, a small box of curry powder for Adoett, and what seemed to be the sweetest looking pie imaginable -- made almost entirely from dehydrated maple syrup.

"My friend Evrain made the curry from some unusual ingredients he got from Darguun, so... goblin curry?" Lysette explained. "As for the pie, it's his fiancée Fleurette's fearsome, alchemically-forged maple pie -- sure to test your endurance with its sweetness."

"I like it," Reverie mutters from the side.

"You also drink diluted maple syrup," Lysette gave her a knowing look.

.....

"...Other than introducing Reverie to everyone, I also came to show you all this," Lysette noted some time later as the initial conversations wound down. "I don't believe the news has hit Stormreach yet, but the world is already changing -- or about to change -- ''again''."

There was something ominous in her usually light and energetic tone. She pulled out a newpaper that some of the group (especially Adoett) recognized as the Sharn Inquirer, with its alarming headlines in bold, screaming letters:

ALLIANCE ANNOUNCED TO ESCALATING TENSION IN KHORVAIRE

Last night at the Wroat Royal Palace, Kor ir'Wynarn, Commander of the Citadel and Royal Chief-of-Staff to His Majesty King Boranel, has officially signed and concluded a defensive military alliance with Haydith ir'Wynarn, sister of King Kaius III of Karrnath...

The rest of the article goes on to talk at length about rising tensions along the borders with Thrane and the strong denunciation by the Thrane ambassador, who calls the alliance "detrimental and threatening to the lasting peace established by the Treaty of Thronehold." Not surprisingly, the announcement triggered a myriad of editorials throughout the paper:

... Just how much of the treaty is a response to the continued military buildup along the Aundaire-Thrane border? Perhaps this is simply our way of warning them: 'go back to war if you want, but keep us out of it!'

... In addition to assurances of mutual defense, the alliance opens the door to an exchange of military cadets between our capable Brelish forces and the Karrnathi officer corps, steeped in the martial tradition of the Rekkenmark.

... Meanwhile, King Kaius III's joint military exercises with the Halflings of the Talenta Plains begin next monday. This treaty may signal the beginning of a four-way defense pact between Breland, Karrnath, Zilargo, and Talenta.

... Yet again, King Boranel of Breland could not be seen at this crucial moment in history.

But one thing was for certain: storm clouds loomed on the horizon. Only six years have passed since the Treaty of Thronehold, and none of the nations have forgotten its devastation. But while everyone spoke of peace and made declarations in the name of cooperation, Khorvaire -- and the four major powers that remained after the 'Last War' -- remained on a paranoid footing, ready at any time for yet another war.

"Figures. The four great nations are as hungry dogs, ready to tear the world apart to fill their bellies. The Last War left too many scars to heal. I'm surprised it took this long." Gorin stated gruffly.

14th: Profession Chef: 1d20+12 = 5+12+12(Econ) = 29
15th: Profession Chef: 1d20+12 = 12+12+12(Econ) = 36

During his evening, he spends some time drafting some short journal stories on their adventures, or talking to Goodberry about plants and spices.

Friday (13th... ominous)
Morning: Leah gives in to her inner hedonist and... overlseeps. Kindasorta. Intentionally.
Afternoon: Expanding her network of bars to hang out in, Leah goes to the Drowning Sorrows and hits up Bula, doing... whatever you do to get friendly with the proprietess of such a place. Maybe heal a heart-broken patron, maybe break a heart to create a patron. [Diplo for Relationship: 1d20 + 12 Skill + 5 Settlement(?) = 21. Reroll from Gregarious: = 35.]
Evening: Leah goes meet Cadroc, the leader of the street rats from their first mission, to tease him some more. She's certainly had an effect on him, so this should be fun... and maybe that runaway girl has been seen again? [Diplo for Relationship: 1d20 + 12 Skill + 5 Settlement = 22.]
Late Night: Leah goes "dancing" again, plying her wiles on the foolish and unsuspecting [Perform(Dance) to generate Inlfuence, I think... 1 time slot already pre-spent last downtime: 1d20 + 8 Skill + 12 Settlement = 22]

Saturday (14th)
Morning: Leah drops by the Ship's Cat again, still comically avoided by cats... but maybe Harysh has some more advice? [Diplo for Relationship: 1d20 + 12 Skill + 5 Settlement = 28]
Afternoon: Leah scours the Marketplace for fun and useful equipment, eventually ending up in the prime location for it: The Splendors of the South... where she proceeds to chat up the shopkeeper, Valexa. [Diplo for Relationship: 1d20 + 17 = 26. Reroll from Gregarious: 37. YAY!]
Evening + Late Night: [Skilled Magic (1d20 + 5ML + 2 Power level (+12 Settlement?) = 9(+12 Settlement?)]

Sunday (15th)
Morning: Leah visits some kind of bath house or so to relax from the week, relax and care for her skin, stuff.
Afternoon: Prettying up of the party, going over her manners again (Damn you, Knowledge (nobility)), preparing some topics for smalltalk.

Evening: Party at Rusila's, as per last week. Assuming you want the same checks again...:
[Knowledge (Nobility) for etiquette (I was hoping the afternoon slot translates into advantage): 1d20 + 2 Skill = 3 for etiquette. ... Pretty please advantage: =16.]
[Diplo for Influence: 1d20 + 12 Skill + 12 Settlement = 27.]
[Diplo for Attitude: Take20 since we're friendly and it takes no time + 12 Skill + 5 Settlement = 37. Disadvantage? Take20 => 37.]
[Perform (Dance) for entertaining: 1d20 + 8 Skill = 25]

Late Night: Relaxation with KOKO!.

Edited my post above so yes, sometime on Saturday Koko shows up and deposits with the company 2430 Gold, and a chest of Eberron Dragonshards without much of an explanation of where they came from.

Downtime actions results! Tell me if I missed anything

ADOETT

Goods produced: 53 + 109 = 162/100
Adoett receives 1 Good and 62/150 progress towards next.

GOODBERRY:

Goods and Influence earning respectively at 69/100 and 107/150 (influence was previously at 78 actually)

Goodberry researches into the plants of the jungle but fails to turn up any useful information, other than finding learning that the jungle's fauna can be diverse and dangerous, even this far up north.

He has no problems moving the poisonous plants into his greenhouse.

With some tweaks to the work he began last time, Goodberry successful weaves a high quality artisan basket that he could be proud of.

GORIN:

Gorin earns 1 Good (and 55+37+30-100 = 22/100 progress towards next). During his time at the tents, he also encounters Ulina -- the Morgrave University student who wants to hire the company. She took an interest in his work, and took half a day following him around to better understand what some of the ritualistic symbols that the giants requested means.

Harysh offers Gorin a few drinks at the Ship's Cat as they had a conversation about Gorin's recent adventures (+3 attitude with Harysh, to +28).

His hunt the next day was successful (despite the terrible hangover). He stumbles across a tapir in the jungle and murders it with an arrow. Adoett could surely make something of such fresh meat.

Gorin has a long chat with Gaulronak, and it was during this time that he recommends Gorin take Ulina's job request. The giant elder says he once journeyed to the area that Ulina is planning to visit, and the region is ripe with history and culture. But perhaps more importantly, he believes Gorin could learn something from the trip to better understand the way of Rusheme, as the remnants of the fabled ancient giant civilization will surely make an impression on the young Shifter.
(+4 attitude with Gaulronak, to +52)

AHZ:

Ahz successfully crafts an Apeiron Staff of Soothing.

Some basic research reveals to Ahz that the nearby Tharashk dragonshard mine is only a day's trip from the city. The facility is said to be lightly guarded by only a squad of mercenaries, but its workers are mostly monstrous hirelings from Droaam, including at least one ogre. The geography on the route is fairly flat -- moving over dry land across shallow hills and strips of jungle. Much of the road features a wide clearing to both sides, although that doesn't hold true near the mid-route bend where the jungle closes in on both sides.

Ahz has a chat with Kurn, who appears to be de-stressing that night by drinking himself stupid. Under the influence of alcohol, Kurn vocally regrets the way he gave his sister the investigation job: "I should have hired some properly security for her!". Ahz manages to help calm him down that night, assuring the manager that they're getting ready to take on the mission and that he'll do everything he can.
(+5 attitude with Kurn, to +50)

With some research into the refinery's archives and from talking to the supervisors, Ahz discovers that when the dragonshard mine was first established, they had several incidents where the drow raided them. It's why the facility has a full palisade wall with walkway and even two wooden towers. But that hasn't happened for several years now.

Ahz drops by the lighthouse and has a scholarly exchange with Eldamir, during which the grouchy old man seemed surprisingly impressed by the young dragonmarked's breadth of knowledge.
(+8 attitude with Eldamir, to -4)

LEAH:

Leah drops by the Drowning Sorrow and introduces herself to Bula. But after a brief conversation, as soon as Bula realizes Leah isn't here as a customer she kind of just... wanders off. Leah approaches her several times more but it doesn't really seem like Bula is interested in becoming friends. That being said, Bula does recognize that Leah has a social talent and would be interested in her working there.

Leah drops by Cadroc's gang and catches up with them. The group has been doing well since the company bailed them out of that 'theft' problem, and Cadroc has even restarted his delving adventures beneath the city. He does tell Leah that one of the gang recently spotted their missing friend in the Docks district. He doesn't have more information than that yet but he hopes to rely on the company's help when the time comes.
(+5 attitude with Cadroc, to +45)

Influence earning (148last +22 -150 = 1 Influence + 20/150)
Magic earning (21/250)

Leah introduces herself and has a conversation with Valexa at Splendors of the South, who seems to be a former adventurer and treasure hunter during her younger days and was glad to tell Leah some of the stories behind her artifacts.
(+17 attitude with Valexa, to +17)

Leah's afternoon cram session does do her some good in remembering the proper etiquette for high society functions. It feels like her manners were at least adequate during the usual Sunday night dinner party at Rusila's, and she didn't address anyone's title wrong this time! Clearly, she should remember to do this more often. Rusila was also glad that Leah helped to entertain the guests for her, although she recommends that Leah mixes it up a little (something other than dancing) next time.
(+27/150 Influence for 47/150)
(+9 attitude with Rusila, to +58 )

KOKO:

Koko establishes and alibi for the night of the assassination, just in case it's needed, although not likely given Stormreach's crime rate. Floating bodies from gang turf wars turn up in the bay almost every other day.

[Synopsis of RP] Koko was able to successfully infiltrate the home of the letter of credit's owner. In a search of his house for documents to imitate him, she discovered that the dwarf was a smuggler, and there was in fact a chestful of dragonshards hidden inside his home. She took the valuables she found and left with the heavy chest. On her way back, she was accosted by a squad of the Stormreach Guard on patrol, whom she had to bribe to leave her alone. Using his documents, Koko forged a signature to use the letter of credit and withdraw from his bank account.
(added to Company: 2430 Gold, Chest of Eberron Dragonshards)

Koko met Aida just as she was finishing up work for the night, and gave her a hand in the closing clean-ups. They had a nice conversation as she walked the girl home.
(+8 attitude with Aida, for +28)

Later at night, she invites Lysette out for dinner at the Open Palm Inn (Respite, next to the Jorasco enclave). In this culturessless, ex-pirate city, the tavern is considered one of the best places to dine with consistently excellent food (and terrible ale). The two of them ordered the best foods they had to offer, many of which were inspired by Xen'drik plants and are fairly exotic. They had quite a bit of fun over a chatty but relaxing dinner.
(adding +10 to the check for the treat; resulting in +5 attitude with Lysette, for +35)
(the dinner costs Koko 25gps)

Koko spends 20 hours of free time (5 time periods) promoting the company around town, trying to use recent successes to get its name out there (+10 bonus on next check).
