Goodberry spends 4 more power points to heal everyone up and puts his last 2 PP in his natural Cognizance Crystal.

Afternoon:
He goes shopping with whoever else is looking for a ranged weapon, and picks up a sling for Adoett, and a light crossbow for himself. He also gets 20 bolts and 20 sling stones(fair to assume standard market prices?)

Evening:
Goodberry spends the evening tending to his plants: Profession Gardener: 13+9 = 22

Late Evening:
Goodberry spends the late late evening taking a few practice shots with the crossbow, and reviewing the information he has on the deadly plants, especially on how to harvest seeds.

Ahz heads to the market to pick up a shortbow and 20 arrows.

(Keeping things short to get an update done in time, assume I spend the rest of my time scribbling crazy theories down in a notebook in my office.)

Leah finds Nalia not particularly keen on improving relations with anyone. The shopkeeper was nice at first, but became sorely disappointed to find Leah more interested in getting to know the locals instead of you know... just paying gold. (no relationship change).

On the other hand, despite dropping by without an invitation, the Brelish consul Rusila found Leah quite the pleasant and charming company. Leah did find the consul surprisingly tight lipped as Rusila spent the entire night redirecting the conversation towards Leah's recent past -- mostly how she became involved with the company and such.
(Relationship improves by +17)
(Special bonus for the critical success: Rusila informs Leah that she hosts a dinner party for a revolving group of upper class guests in Stormreach every Sunday, and she'd be delight to have Leah join her on this Sunday, February 8th)

Koko, Gorin, Adoett, and Ahz spend their spare time relaxing, recuperating, and tending to their daily maintenance routines.

Goodberry studies the information given on deadly plants. The book he received had no information on the Blood Bush itself, but it did include several species that were somewhat similar to it.
( Goodberry receives advantage on any pertinent checks to extract seeds from the Blood Bush plants for the next 2 days )

-----

February 7th:

Another misty morning arrives at Stormreach, as the party prepares to depart for their 2nd day in cleaning out the Gardens of Respite. But before the group's departure, the shareholder Lysette drops by, this time fully decked in her adventuring gear.

"I wanted to give everyone a heads-up before leaving: Reverie asked for some help so I'll be journeying back to Khorvaire for some time -- likely half to a week. If you need supplies, I've told my aides to sell you what's on stock at the usual discount. Good luck everyone~!"

( any final preparations? Remember to bring ranged weapons this time =P Also post any actions you'd like to do before and when you get to the gardens... like yesterday, there is a noticeable early morning mist so it may be best to wait until at least mid-morning )

Gorin thinks waiting until mid morning, perhaps even the afternoon, to resume the hunt would be a wise plan.

"But what will we do with the rest of the morning then?" Koko asks curiously as she wanders to and fro. "I mean, its probably smart to wait for the fog to burn off, but we might also seem like slackers, or unreliable if we don't at least show up to tell them why we're not out there already."

"Yesterday, we also started in the afternoon, after the fog cleared out. I doubt it would be a problem as long as we finish today," Leah reasons. "So, free time in the morning?"

( Since the people who have posted want to wait until it gets closer to noon... you have the [Morning] time slot free. Spend it or just relax )
( I will post to start phase 2 of the mission next week )

Morning:

With the suddenly opened up time frame, Leah quickly disappears into the streets, strolling around and seeing who she meets. This time, a cat quickly caught her interest. Leah likes the little furballs, as they incorporate grace, playfulness and the allure of a hunter, not unlike herself, but the attraction is apparently one-sided. Maybe the little things have some inexplicable sense of her not-quite-human nature, or maybe the gods of furballs have just cursed her. Either way, cats are wary of her. It doesn't stop her from trying, though.

Leah's target this time around quickly flees to the "Ship's Cat", Leah in tow. Intrigued by the concentration of cuteness there (all the cats, among other animals), Leah spontaneously strikes up a conversation with the Innkeeper, Harysh, while the latter has some free time. Maybe a professional has some help for Leah's cat worries? And even if not, it should be a delightful conversation and a new acquaintance.

Much like a cat, Gorin spends his morning lounging in the garden. Not on top of Goodberry's plants though: he knows better.

Leah strikes has a relaxing conversation with Harysh, who is... obviously more used to social situations than Leah is. Although perhaps that's not surprising, seeing as she is an Innkeeper and all. Harysh also took note of Leah's interest in cats and taught her the basics on how to groom a kitten.
(Relationship +7)

Koko finds several black marketeers who sell poison, and... one 'legitimate' store -- Dagoward's Apothecary in Harbor District. She even manages to extract a few special codewords from people, which sellers use to verify normal/recommended customers whom they wouldn't hike up the prices for.
(Koko may now buy poisons at normal price in the Stormreach markets... given the same market restrictions)
(Koko also returns from the Harbor District to find her moneybag thinner. She got pickpocketed for 31gps...)

Goodberry finishes another masterwork fruit basket

-----

Around noonish, the group gathers once more for the trip to the Gardens of Respite. They do a once-over comb of the upper level (out of three levels), and discover a remaining cluster of 3 plants just above the staircase down to the middle level... there's a good chance the 'infection' had spread up from there.

( map updated )

( just give me a note on what you're doing, and I'll see if we have a need to enter initiative order =P )

[An innkeeper is more used to social interaction than a trained escort? And I didn't even Nat1 it. Oh, well, w/e]

Shoot them from a safe distance.
Get back the ammunition we can.
Harvest their 'organs'.
No ???
Profit!

... or that's Leah's suggestion.
Anybody figure a safe and free method to find out the plants' range? Might be handy to know.

"We could borrow a literal door and use it for cover, creeping closer and chucking rocks until we see just how far they can fire." Koko offers. "Though with slings we're unlikely to run out of rocks, only daylight before we finish them all off."

After a moment she adds. "We should also keep an eye on where any fired seeds end up, we'll want to make sure they wont just start growing again later and have to come back in another six weeks. We might even want to make sure that when we go we alert the regular gardeners to look out for them in the area of the first fight if we can't find them all as I know I wasn't paying that kind of attention."

Dr. Goodberry will be taking point again, trying to stop about 50ft out from the plants and using his new crossbow (+4 total ranged attack) and recovering his bolts after each encounter. He will then try to harvest as many seeds as possible (Prof Herbalist +11, Prof Gardener +9, Know Nature +7)

"I don't think we really have much of a door. I could slowly advance until they decide to start firing, and then back away." Goodberry sends, impressing on them that he does NOT intend to go charging in, but will cautiously advance until a single seed is fired then retreat 5ft to safety. "Or we can just do this from 50ft out which last encounter showed was beyond their range. Ahz, please refrain from using so much of that plant killer this time. Once we get a few hits, the plants should either retreat or advance. Hopefully we can encourage the later, possibly using me as bait by being just out of range, and performing a fighting retreat."
