When you arrive at the zoo in Fort Lewis, it’s a rare sunny day in Seattle, and bright yellow light burns down through the gauzy gaps in the curtain of clouds and industrial smog overhead. Weatherman's Universe doesn't look too out of place in the parking lot, with its collection of ISO Standard Sprawl Vehicles. The zoo is busy, but not packed; young couples on dates meander along, pointing at enclosures and giggling, and packs of smiling and laughing kids on school trips dart around the place, zipping from exhibit to exhibit with surging enthusiasm. There are plenty of ordinary animals, lions and tigers, enormous Asian elephants, antelopes, zebra, and giraffes, but stranger fare is also present. You see winged pegasi running in herds in their roofed grasslands enclosure, de-venomed eykyelebenle hanging lazily from the canopy of their artificial jungle habitat, a chitinous, emerald-armored wyrd mantis standing nearly two meters tall, and much more. Perhaps most impressive is the mated pair of phoenixes in their enormous, open-air enclosure, safely contained by sonic fences, twining around each other in flight, their fiery auras crackling with power.
You don’t want to let your attention wander too much, so you keep your head down and make for the humidity and fecal musk of the reptile house. Still, it’s probably a good idea to keep an eye on the wildlife here; some of these critters are dangerous predators, cages or not.
(Welcome to the zoo! The zoo is guarded by UCAS Military Police, so you can't walk in here with any rifles or other large weapons. Knives are fair game. Pistols you'll have to make a concealment check for them. Squall, you could theoretically go in by drone, but you'll have to roll concealment for any weapons on the drone.)
Netizen knows he can't conceal his revolver from the MPs, so he leaves it in Weatherman's van.
Doctor Shadow prefers to not go unarmed, and manages to sneak in his taser and his light pistol.
(To sneak in a weapon, make a Palming + Agility [Physical] check and I'll let you know how it goes.)
