Part 1: The Fall of Kenabres

"Well, Aravashnial, its good to see you're still alive," Cernandalon says, greeting his friend, "the Morgethai family sent me to find out what became of you."

"Malorix. Nice to make your acquaintance."

And then the maggots burst out. Malorix sighs. "Well, I suppose it could have been worse things than giant maggots. Look alive, people!"

Anevia does her best to turn and face the maggots, making sure to not bang her leg too much, and then draws her bow
Aravashnial curses in elven and begins casting a spell (Spellcraft to ID the spell)

Daveed grasps his scimitar in both hands and charges to Henric's aid.

DM Result:
Distending it's stomach proved to be a fatal mistake for the maggot, as Daveed's scimitar finds an easy mark, putting the maggot into death spasms as it bleeds out onto the cold rock.

Cernandlon draws a bead on the disgusting maggot and lets an arrow fly at it.

Attack: 1d20+4: 18 [1d20=14]
Damage: 1d8+4: 11 [1d8=7]


DM Note:
The arrow strikes true and kills the maggot.

With Cernandlon's shot, the last maggot is slain. Combat ends. Actions everyone.

Daveed takes a moment to put the end of his blade through the heads of the maggots, just make sure, before turning towards Henric.

"Sorry, my friend, I did not mean to abandon you up here."

Epicette looked rather disapproving at Anevia's bow. After encouraging Eclair to move atop her head like a tiny fox hat, she grabbed the injured woman's arm (on the injured leg side) and draping it across her own shoulders:
"Shoot if you have to, but hang onto me until you get a good position and try not to put any unnecessary strain on that leg before we get out -- otherwise it'll get worse."

Henric continues trying to shake the goop off of him, but after seeing the maggots slain smiles weakly and says "Thanks, everybody. Give me a couple minutes to clean up and we can keep going?"

Malorix nods, glad to see that the maggots went down so fast. "Alright, but given what just happened out there, giant maggots are the least of our worries. We need to move as soon as everyone's mobile. Question is, where do we go?"

"Oh, and miss... Epicette, was it? Is miss Anevia's leg set properly? I don't want to let loose with the cure spells only to find out later that it healed crooked."

"Here Henric," Daveed says, offering his waterskin, "in case you got any in your mouth."

Frowning, Epicette responded: "It's set as well as I can manage, although with a multiple-bone-fracture we may need something a lot stronger than just positive energy bursts -- I'm thinking actual regenerative spells, which I certainly don't have."
