Just putting a thread out for this, I know I have an interest in compiling this kind of stuff for D&D session and a few others here do also.

just nabbed the OST for Valkyria Chronicles, the PS3 game that won awards for having the best soundtrack of 2008 (amongst a lot of other awards). The battle music for this game is ridiculously good, and since it's designed for a 'war' game its designed to come with that epic feel.

Anyone interested should think about nabbing it, even if they didn't play the game =9

The Code Geass OST has several good battle tracks. I also quite like the Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age battle tracks. Basically, if you ever played an RPG with good music, it probably has a couple good battle tracks (also, the Black Mages have like six). Mai HiME's OST (hello, Mezame) is also very good.

Lord of the Rings OSTs obviously. And Pirates of the Caribbean is pretty good for nautical games too.

I was not impressed by the LotR OSTs, mainly cause they did the same thing as the Star Wars OSTs - stick too many scenes worth of music on the same tracks.

I guess I could separate them with an editor but... too lazy, and not THAT good.
