Bahnak grew up in the Endless Waste, in a village in a cold conflict with a nearby village, but left after he violated hostage bond with a neighboring tribe. The custom was for the leaders of the opposing villages to exchange sons as ambassadors. Bahnak, however, interceded to stop Hurnak, the leader of the other village's son, from raping one of his maids. Bahnak set her on a path to his village while he left for other lands. While he was journeying west, he began to have odd dreams, though he relentlessly ignored them, wanting nothing to do with a Destiny. After a time had passed, however, whoever was sending those dreams became frustrated with his intractability, and decided to take a more active role.
A few months after the dreams first began, Bahnak had a job as a caravan guard for a wealthy dwarven merchant. Some sort of demon attacked them on a journey through Impiltur, seriously wounding some of the other guards before Bahnak, resonating with some sort of divine power, smote them down. As the only one still conscious, Bahnak was the only one aware of a...visitor. A glowing being now stood in the bloody clearing, one with a *presence* beyond any Bahnak had ever encountered. He introduced himself as Tyr and wanted to know why Bahnak was so damn stubborn! It turned out the dreams had been coming from him, in an attempt to convince Bahnak to serve Tyr as a Crusader, one of His champions on Toril. Bahnak took some convincing, as what had any gods done for his practically barbaric people? Tyr responded with an appeal to Bahnak's honor and sense of righteous action, convincing him.
Bahnak traveled the world, getting little "flashes" of guidance or inspiration from Tyr, about where to go when nothing immediately presented itself and occasionally what to do about situations involving certain extraplanar invaders. Eventually, he found himself in Amn.Statistics: Posted by Laharl — Tue Feb 06, 2007 11:08 pm
