Forums of the Coast

Dampness hangs in the air of this cave, condensing into heavy moisture on the slick stone walls. The calm, dark waters wind around to the east up north, along a stony, soot-scarred beach. A five-foot high ledge sporting several stalagmites rises to the east, beyond which a low-ceilinged cave beckons.

The cave is illuminated. Unfortunately, it is illumined by the glowing glands of three large and very-hungry looking insects.

Roll initiative!

Niles readies his bow, but is somewhat distracted by the intriguing creatures before him.

(Initiative: 1d20+6)

Frowning, Manizei gives her musket a shake. Luckily it wasn't loaded when she went into the water, and her powder was safe in its sealed horn, but she had been hoping for more than just this moment to dry and load it.
(1d20+3 = 17. And I think it's a full-round action to load this thing, so that'll be all I do this round)

Enlali shakes off some excess water and whips out her bardiche ready to fight.

(1d20+0=12)

Harskgun surfaces from the toxic water reminding himself to practice swimming in armor more often. "Torag's graying beard!" he swears when sees the insects.

(Initiative: 1d20+3 = 4)

(Well, you guys are lucky. I rolled a 2.)

Grumbling quietly to herself, Manizei begis the process of loading her musket, something that will take her a little while.

Not about to miss the action this time, Enlali spring forward and slashes at the insect nearest to her with her bardiche.

Iskarion pulls out his bow and shoots at the creature directly across from him

(Attack: 1d20+2= 12; 1d6=4 (piercing))

Harskgun triggers his wrist sheath to draw his dagger and moves up to attack the middle insect.
(Not a charge)

(Attack: 1d20+5 = 18)
(Damage: 1d6+1 = 2 piercing damage)

Enlali carves FB3 clear in half, and is now covered in beetle guts. Niles sees FB2 stagger forward a bit, and then fall over, just barely dead.

FB1 is still up, and fruitlessly nibbles at the dwarf who just stabbed it. He also moves' 5' north, for no reason.

Top of the round!

The dwarf that stabbed FB1 stabs FB1 again! And probably misses!
(Attack: 1d20+5 = 10)
(Damage: 1d6+1 = 2 piercing damage, on the off chance I hit.)

Niles fire an arrow at the remaining bug creature, and probably hits.

(1d20+2= 20; 1d6= 5)

Pausing for a moment, Manizei takes careful aim at the last creature before firing at it.

((1d20+5 =22. Was going to ask if that 5ft move it made meant I wasn't shooting into combat, but ... even with the penalty for that, I think that's still a hit. 1d12 damage = 9))

Manizei goes into bullet time and, with great drama, gibs the last remaining beetle, showering Harskgun in glowing green gore. 405 XP.(135x3)

The water continues eastward. There is also a cave up a short slope to the southeast. Someone give me a survival check.

Meanwhile, in the next room, a certain someone hears a gun going off in the entry cavern. Might wanna check that out...
