Cernandlon shoots at the remaining ghoul.
(Move action to gain Psionic Focus, change active creature type to Undead for Disrupt Pattern, then expend focus with the shot)

Once combat finished, Epicette sends Reverie over to take a look at the other room (and the other after if open) before report back. If nothing else, it's doubtful the ghouls closed the doors behind them...

Meanwhile, Detect Magic + search this room as usual.

Cernandlon's arrow plows through G4 with enough force that Malorix needs to do a small jump to not get hit as it bowls the ghoul into him.

on the half-fiend you find a wand of Hold Person (10 charges), 3 doses of unholy water, a +1 breastplate, a heavy steel shield, a +1 Battle Aspergillum, a holy symbol, a vial of silver powder (Appraise for value, or Scott can Spellcraft as it is a spell component for one of his spells), and a key.

As you inspect the room you find a strongbox at the foot of one of the beds.

As Henric leaves the other room he is no longer silenced. (or 2 rounds after combat ends)

Epicette was correct in assuming that the ghouls did not close the doors behind them

Epicette asks Cernandlon to check the strongbox for traps before trying the key on it; if that doesn't work, we'll see if Cernandlon can pick it~

"Next room is apparently an empty prison of sorts with a strong silence effect. I think we should hit the last room from its courtyard entrance."

The key does not fit the lock on the strongbox

"Sounds like a good plan. Any luck with the strongbox?"

Finally able to speak, Henric shares what he knows about the creature they just killed. "It's called a Nabasu. Looked like this was a half-fiend. They create ghouls out of humanoids they manage to kill, so those ghouls were probably once..." Henric trails off and looks slightly sick for a moment before recovering his composure.

"Can Half-Nabasu create ghouls ghouls as well?" Daveed asks, examining the lifeless body of Nuk.

"Full ones user a drain a few times a day. I don't know whether half breeds can or not. The ghoul disease takes a day to incubate, as well."

Cernandlon attempts the quick route first: his skeleton key.

If this fails, Cernandlon breaks out his tools and gets to work.

The lock opens when Cernandlon gets serious and brings his tools to bear.

"Odd," Malorix says, scowling at Nuk's body. "I don't think I've encountered half-fiends that... specific before. I suppose it shouldn't surprise me, given where we are." He straightens up, a look of disgust on his face. "Come on, let's finish this. If Henric's right about the former identity of these ghouls, I'm going to have a lot of sacraments to perform. Let's go make sure we've put down them all before getting started."

As the group arranges themselves to open the last room from the courtyard, they find the door barred from the inside.
