"Sir Cernandlon, if you would." Daveed said, stepping out of the way.
"It sounds like there is a cloven-footed creature pacing around in there." Daveed continued, speaking somewhat softer.

Cernandlon steps up and first tries his skeleton key on the padlock.
(Disable Device: 1d20+10 = 14)
(Gonna assume that fails.)
Seeing that his skeleton key once again did not work, Cernandlon pulls out his lockpicks and gets to work.
(Disable Device: 1d20+10 = 21)
(If that fails, lets just melt it open, they already know we're here.)

While the skeleton key fails, cernandlon's own skills fo not. He quickly hears a familiar click as the lock opens. (It is still in the padlock but can be removed by whoever opens the door.)

Cernandlon steps back and draws his bow, leaving a more heavily-armored person to open the door this time.

Shield raised, Daveed kicks in the door.

As soon as daveed's boot connects with the door you heara slobbering voice call out "*sss* Parley!*ksss* I want *kssh* to bargain!". Inside you see a humamoid with a goatlike face and scraggly hair. It has a halbeard in one hand but is not actively weilding it at you. (Know[planes] to id)

Malorix peeks in over Daveed's shoulder and readily identifies the creature as a Schir, also known as a Spite Demon. (as in actions done out of spite). He knows they tend to be more destructive than the average demon, and have average intelligence. Also, that halberd carries a nasty infection. He also expresses mild surprise that such a creature knows the meaning of the word "parley."

Daveed narrowed his eyes as they briefly pulsed with golden light.
"You have 10 seconds. Speak." He said sharply.

"*slurp* Look, I'm banished back to hell no matter what, that's how you good types work. *ssss* At least let me get some revenge on that incompetent bitch Jeslyn who gave me this shitty task." He pauses for a moment to see if you'll let him continue.

Daveed does not let him finish.
"We have a city to save, and we do not have time for the revenge fantasies of a lesser evil. Sir Cernandlon, shoot it." Daveed stated coldly, before beginning to advance on the Schir.
