Likely Itinerary:
Converge at designated departure zone(s) two days before the Convention. Spend the entire next day driving to Indy. CON! CON! CON! Depart Sunday* Resume boring, non-Gen Con, existence.*Marty and I discussed the prospect of leaving on Monday morning instead of Sunday morning/afternoon. It would require an extra vacation day, but it would also mean we could do more events on Saturday (Saturday evening, in particular, is when a lot of cool events go down) and Sunday (and having our group dinner on Sunday evening would likely mean less of a crowd).

Food costs were pretty much steady this year. But then again, I ate less, so I don't know.

Also: Next year will be the launch of Modiphius's Star Trek Adventures RPG, with their first post-playtesting living campaign kicking off there. So I'll have at least some of that on my plate. And of course more NSDM. It will also be the launch of Paizo's Starfinder (I think), so we'll see what happens with that too.

Upon weighing my options, I have decided that attending Gen Con this year would not be a fiscally responsible decision. So I will not be going. Do worry, I will be with you in spirit.
There is the matter of the hotel room in the Holiday Inn across from the stadium that is currently in my name. I will contact the hotel tomorrow to see what steps must be taken for me to transfer the room. Hopefully, I can get my $250 deposit back too. Details when I have them.
Also, though I'm not going, I'm still happy to help coordinate the trip. Since Eric has school and work, and Marty has workworkwork.

2. Probably in the Residence Inn at 350 West New York Street, it doesn't have a skybridge to the convention center, but its only a few blocks away and will be much nicer to our wallets.
3. Travel is the tricky thing. I'm happy to roadtrip it from MD. I think you'll have to compare your options, Marty and go whats best for you.
