Kati Orlov Gant was born into a life of nobility, the daughter of the Gant Family, a prominent noble family in the kingdom of Archeron. The Gant's are known for using curved sword that the rest of the world doesnt understand. The Gant's were once part of the Archeronian military, but retired from active service decades ago, however they did not cease with the martial tradition of their family. In honor of their many years of military service, Lord Gant, once known as "The Fox of the East," was assigned as the Archeronian Ambassador to Misalin. Lord Gant fell in love with a Misalin noble woman and married her, and the result of this coupling was Kati. Kati has the blood of Archeron and Misalin nobles, making her a noble in both countries. Kati's mother was a cleric of Heironius, and Kati learned the ways of the Misalinian faith from her. She was trained in the Gant's martial ways (i.e. curved swords) by her father, and in the ways of the Favored Soul by nobody in particular. She was trained in the ways of nobility by both of her parents. At the age of 16, her father comissioned Vigo, the Gant family blacksmith (who was back at the Gant estate in Archeron) to make Kati a katana. But Vigo was old and senile, and made a minor mistake when forging the sword - he made it 400% larger than it should have been. Apparently he had been reminiscing about the old days when he and Kati's father had been in the military and her father had used a similar weapon. When it arrived in Misalin, and Ambassador Gant saw it, he was ready to send it back, but Kati told him that she would keep it and develop a unique fighting style for using the oversized blade. Kati trained long and hard, and eventually mastered combat using the drastically oversized sword. Ambassador Gant saw Kati's combat prowess and passed on his title as "Fox of the East" to her.
Kati did attempt to enter the paladin academy at one point, but she didn't last long. Apparently the Misalin Paladins don’t enjoy having drug addicts (even if it was just Caffeine) in their ranks. Kati also did not enjoy reading bibles day after day. During her stay at the academy, she befriended a half-elf named Cary, who would later go on to graduate the academy and be involved in the mysterious explosion in the forest of the elves, being the only known survivor of the mission sent there.

When the war broke out, Kati joined the Fists of Misalin. One day, during a battle, Lord Strusler saw Kati's combat prowess. He approached her after the battle was over and asked if she had ever considered using the sword as a weapon for mounted combat. She was interested by this proposal, and Strusler provided a Pegasus for her to ride. Kati developed a way that she could fight on the mount by flying above the enemy and using her sword's incredible reach to attack the enemies while flying out of their reach. She used her political influence to acquire a pair of custom made Dwarven Drogue Wings that allow her to jump off of the pegasus while in the air and safely land on the ground. Lord Strusler came to check up on her progress, and was amazed that she was able to fight equally as well in the air as on the ground. He recommended that she join the aerial division of the Fists of Misalin. Kati changed from the ground to aerial division of the Fists of Misalin and quickly rose through the ranks to become a captain. She was quickly given command of her own unit of troops.
Kati was part of the Highrez Defense when the army had stopped there and the Durum Defender decided to attack. Her current hobby is discovering the identity of the mysterious person who destroyed the Durum Defender.
After the battle at Capital City, Kati was promoted to the rank of Major.
During their quest to find the Holy Sword of Misalin in the frozen wastes of Norinth, the party found a tower. At the top of the tower was a large magic circle that Kati activated (rather recklessly) that her a slight evil aura, for reasons unknown to her. Some of her divine magic also seemed to weaken some, but she picked up a few talents that are usually traits of arcane spellcasters as well.
